This is our “winter” season (June-August) in Kenya. The weather is both cold and dry, but very chilly in the mornings and evenings.
School Update
The school closed for the August holiday on July 29, 2026, reopened on August 24, 2026. The children sat for the end-of-term examinations. From the results, the teachers identified some areas where our children need targeted assistance and made plans to help them. Moreover, the top performers were identified and rewarded with various gifts such as umbrellas, lunchboxes, notebooks, pencils, etc., as incentives.
The Grade 6 and 9 learners are in their final year, preparing for the national exams in October. In that regard, these candidates are being encouraged to focus more on revision. In that regard, the teachers sacrificed one week of the August holiday to help the children revise at school. We are trusting the Lord that these 2026 candidates will do better than the previous year. The Grade 10 class remains a big challenge since the school doesn’t have a senior school. Not knowing where the children will end up next year remains a major concern regarding some of the needy children who may not continue with school. Some of our 2025 graduates are no longer in school for lack of school fees and family support.
Sponsorship Program Update
Following specialized attachments in various places, six children have already graduated and are now looking for jobs. We intend to bring together these former students for a “thank you” video for their sponsors.
Veronica, one of the students, graced our closing day event and encouraged the students to study hard. Below you see her at her graduation, third person from the left where Wanji is.

Another School Field
Following the completion of the perimeter wall, our attention was drawn to the future field below Sifa House. The area is sloppy, meaning that the field is uneven and therefore unsuitable for sporting activities. To create a safe ground for sports and recreational activities for the children, the school purchased 22 lorries of red soil to level the field. Staff members helped level off the field. We now have to replant the grass with the promise of maximizing the space available for school activities.

Discipleship Program
The Sunday afternoon Discipleship Program has continued using the Safari Discipleship books for different groups of the children and the youth. One of the sponsored children working at school, Shadrack, leads the youth program. He is in the blue jacket in the image below left. The image below right shows the children having a cup of tea after Sunday School.

The School Residential Camp 2026
Based on the 2025 first residential camp success, we have decided to hold annual camps. The second camp is ongoing with the theme “Navigating Life Choices.” This is a wide topic helping our children form life and career choices.

Infrastructure Development
Out of the residual building materials from the construction, we have done two basic constructions. One, the agricultural and home science shed with a room above it for our night guard (top right photo below) and a photo showing the inside of it (single photo below). Two, the caretaker’s house (top left photo below) has been renovated, transforming it from a rundown shack into a clean, comfortable, and hospitable home for the person entrusted with caring for the school.
The two spaces under the staircase in Sifa and Imani houses have been fenced with a wire mesh to create storage for the playing tyres and other sports equipment.
Bidii house has been expanded by knocking down the middle wall to create a bigger community room. Now, we need benches for this amazing space! The school tore down the wall between the children’s activities room and the former PP1 class.

Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. — Philippians 1:6
