It is chilly! This being the cold season (June-August), the weather has dropped from the 70s to between 50 -60 degrees.

The school was on a short mid-term break from Tuesday, June 23, and reopened on Monday, June 29, 2026. The children did their midterm exams from June 15 – 18.
The featured image above shows the children at birthday celebrations on the assembly ground.

Sifa House
Upon the completion of this long-awaited building, Sifa House is now occupied by the primary school classrooms.

Prayer and dedication for Sifa House with Wanji and the Staff.
Perimeter Wall Construction
The perimeter wall construction project is ongoing. Based on where the wall is being built the engineer advised some structural adjustments to strengthen the wall since the wall is on a collapsing zone. This necessitated further expense on the wall project. All this tough work is being done by hand by jobless young people from the community.

Staff Meeting
With the children gone from school, the teaching and non-teaching held All-Staff lunch meeting on June 23, 2026, to review school progress and other important matters. This was also a good time to introduce the Discipleship program, that will be used by all staff during the Wednesday Bible Study
All staff after the meeting.
Discipleship Program
The children and the youth have continued to use the Safari books published and printed in Kenya by CITAM Ministries. The books cost between $2-$3. For accountability and ownership purposes everyone is encouraged to pay that amount for a personal copy. Upon the completion of the Book of John, the Pillars and the staff will also be using the Safari Books, but translation and interpretation of the content will be necessary. Swahili versions of the book may also be necessary! I am so thankful to God for this spiritual formation progress in our school.
Co-Curricular Activities
Games and Sports
The school was able to purchase 2 football balls and 1 handball ball for use by the learners. This is such a relief for all the children as they enjoy being at the field. The photos show girls’ football practice and an athletic competition.

Fun School Activities
The Grade 5 students had a fashion show as part of their yearly projects. They invited the whole school, and some of the students were able to showcase their creativity and poses. The girls showcased their creativity with a cap, top, and skirt made from a supermarket shopping bag.

And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me. — Matthew 18:5
